Tom Dixon Gets Experimental With a Tableware Collection Inspired by Lab Glass
Tom Dixon, whose imagination was sparked by lab glass, charts new territory with Bump, a delicately hued tableware and vase collection in mouth-blown double-wall borosilicate. The standard beaker inspired the jug and teapot’s spout and handle, but parts of the collection are rendered in cotton-candy pink. Black and gray are also utilized for the pieces, which play with transparency and translucence. The alchemic design process has yielded three vases: a shorter one perfect for a single orchid, a taller one that can hold more stems, and a conical version with a glossy interior wall.
