Train Beach Club by L.S. Design Combines Fitness and Hospitality in Dubai

Train Beach Club, an exclusive fitness facility designed by L.S. Design that blends all-around wellness with high-end hospitality, is open for business in La Mer, Dubai’s vibrant and paradisiacal beachfront.
Among the club’s many offerings are a state-of-the-art gym, boxing/yoga studio, juice bar, and hookah lounge, as well as Origin 33, the club’s restaurant. Though the multi-faceted facility is the first such project for the Dubai- and Linhai, China-based firm, it borrows heavily from their previous work, especially in the residential and hospitality sectors.

“We’ve done many high-end super-villas for celebrities and sportsmen where the gym, spa, and leisure areas are paramount to the living experience,” says L.S. Design founder Omar Abdelghafour. “The design for this space was like an extension of a high-end home.”
The design brief called for a raw, industrial aesthetic that would complement the architecture of the surrounding neighborhood. Abdelghafour’s answer to the challenge—a limited palette of concrete, leather, and slatted wood—repeats throughout the varied spaces, uniting them aesthetically. “The space needed to be detailed, and evoke a sense of rugged force, while still being inviting for the target demographic,” says Abdelghafour. “The biggest challenge—the integration of five venues in one space—became the best feature.”
