Aside from color trends, timeless materials like stone, wood, and brass (perhaps a stability-seeking reaction to an uncertain economy?) are holding steady, as well as a continued preference for collections that allow designers to mix and match—from trays and rugs to seating and tables. Designer Jasper Morrison<\/a> was everywhere we turned this year, as were Neri&Hu<\/a>, Doshi Levien<\/a>, Nendo<\/a>, and Patricia Urquiola<\/a>. We kept our ears open for offsite recommendations, too; rumor has it you can’t miss Nilafur Depot<\/a>, the COS lighting installation<\/a>, Hem’s ice cream socials, and Vitra’s Color Machine<\/a>.
