Urquiola’s Path to Architecture and Design<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Born in Oveido, Spain, but with a passion for the city of Milan, Urquiola studied architecture and design at the Universidad Polit\u00e9cnica de Madrid and the Politecnico di Milano, where she graduated under the mentorship of Italian master Achille Castiglioni<\/a>. Upon completing school, Urquiola never expected to have her own studio, but after years of studying under an impressive roster of advisers including Vico Magistretti<\/a> and Piero Lissoni<\/a>, she opened her own studio, Studio Urquiola<\/a>, in 2001. Today, she is also the creative director of Cassina and a collaborator with Haworth, in addition to managing many other projects. On Clever<\/em>‘s 200th episode, Urquiola shares what it’s like working with some of the biggest brands in design, and learning from a group of such revered designers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
