Roman and Williams Buildings and Interiors, the firm founded by Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch that’s well-known for global projects for such clients as Ace, Freehand, Goop, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

But Roman and Williams Guild, the New York housewares store purveying many of the couple’s own designs, is just 5 years old. That’s where Seed, a new bronze pendant fixture crafted with the lost-wax process, comes from. Each chain link is individually cast and assembled, with the drop length made to order. The “seed,” an elongated glass pod handblown by Brooklyn artisans, has a gradiating opacity starting from its bronze cap.
