Meta Spaces in Material Places
Meta Spaces in Material Places examines the potential of our built environment to become a canvas for digital spaces, acting as catalysts for activation through digital means. Designers examined how various digital overlays could be projected onto physical environments to produce more immersive and customizable experiences. Through augmented reality, geolocation, software apps, digital projection, smartphones, and photogrammetry, their research looks at how these tools have begun to influence the needs of our clients. Beyond living simply in the computer, we see a future where public squares and architectural spaces can become sandboxes ripe for physical and digital placemaking.
