Bill Grant of Grant Design Collaborative Wins Outstanding Marketer at 2020 HiP Awards
When describing Bill Grant’s long list of accolades, it’s hard not to sound like an award-winning marketer. Going beyond traditional advertising and brand strategies with his skillset of product, graphic, and showroom design, Grant’s well-earned 2020 HiP Award for Outstanding Marketer does not sit alone in a trophy case. Grant also is a previous IIDA winner and former president of the American Institute of Graphic Arts.
Grant’s career had humble beginnings when he worked as a copy writer for Shaw in 1984. Time, dedication, and hard work led Grant to collaborations with companies such as Mohawk Group, Steelcase, Geiger International, and CF Stinson then, of course, running his own branding and marketing company—Grant Design Collaborative.
But his out-of-industy accomplishments, such as being the first openly gay mayor in the state of Georgia and baking an award-winning green tomato pie, add to Grant’s palpable southern charm. Grant says he loves to take ordinary, often overlooked objects and elevate them to HiP design and marketing concepts, even if he is the only one who gets the inside joke.
