Top Tile Trends Spotted At Coverings 2025
Tile has long transcended its utilitarian roots, evolving from ancient architectural necessity to a defining element of design language. And the material is as relevant today as ever, as evident at Coverings 2025, an expansive trade show that hosted more than 1,000 exhibitors from 40 countries in Orlando, Florida earlier this year. From tiles outfitted with smart technology to rich mosaics and earthy hues, each piece offers a narrative that inspires—and challenges—designers to rethink the material’s potential.
“Coverings 2025 demonstrated how the global tile and stone industry continues to thrive through shared innovation, craftsmanship and collaboration,” said Jamie Rich, Coverings’ show director. “This year’s show created meaningful connections across continents and professions, inspiring new ideas and elevating the future of tile, stone, construction and design.” Take a look at top tile trends spotted at the show, which drew nearly 25,000 manufacturers and designers to the Orange Country Convention Center in Orlando in April, 2025.
Editor’s note: Those interested in attending Coverings 2026, slated for March 30-April 2, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, can sign up to be notified when event registration opens at www.coverings.com.
Design Highlights From Coverings 2025
Human-Centered, Tactile Design
Tiles that look as if they were made by hand offer a sense of connection, creating a strong visual element—and design narrative—that enlivens an array of spaces. At Coverings 2025, human-centered elements like these tactile pieces were a strong focus.
Smart Tiles And Discrete Technology
What can’t technology do? Tiles with subtle lighting features at the tap of a hand, including the ability to dim, were just some of the innovative displays at the show.
Sand And Beige Tones
This year, earth tones are in—especially sand and beige. Indulge in layered hues with ints of brown and pink that connect with nature.
Color Drenching
Tile designed to fill a room also is making waves. Think: Ceiling, walls, and floors coated in the same decadent shade or material.
Dynamic Patterns And Shapes
Indulge in pattern play with these artful tiles that are sure to spark conversation.
