Coverings, the largest international tile and stone exhibition in North America, will celebrate its fourth annual National Tile Day on February 23, and this year’s celebration promises to be more interactive than ever before. The festivities will feature new and inspiring imagery of creative tile designs, installations, and applications, which will be shared across Coverings’ social media channels.

Members and enthusiasts of the architecture and design industries can participate in a variety of ways. These include tuning into Coverings’ KBtribechat Twitter chat February 19 at 2 p.m. EST and viewing Interior Design’s Facebook Live Tile Trends interview with Coverings’ industry ambassador Alena Capra, which will be featured February 23 at 1 p.m. EST. Throughout National Tile Day 2020, participants are encouraged to tag their tile photos with #NationalTileDay, #Coverings2020, and #WhyTile.

Designers will be especially interested to know National Tile Day coincides with the release of the Top 10 Tile Trends from Ceramics of Italy, Tile Council of North America, and Tile of Spain. These include: mixed color palettes, refined natural wood aesthetics, sustainable materials, bright psychedelic colors, and speckled surfaces to name a few.

“National Tile Day is an incredible way to spotlight a timeless element of architecture and design that connects members of the tile community and it’s supporting industries, says Capra. “This National Tile Day, we are excited to share with everyone the progress and importance of one of the most practical and beautiful building materials through some highly engaging and unique social media activations and programs.”

Coverings’ National Tile Day celebration of tile serves as a precursor for its annual conference, held this year in New Orleans from April 20-23. The show, expected to draw more than 26,000 attendees, covers all the major products, trends, and innovations in the tile and stone industry within the past year.
