Crossville Tile: More Than Cosmetic for a Beauty Brand’s HQ

Younique, an international beauty brand and first direct sales company to market almost exclusively through social media, may be a darling of the digital world, but its Lehi, UT headquarters is a real-world site to behold in which porcelain tile plays an essential role.

“Younique wanted to create an inviting, modern, yet timeless atmosphere,” shares Lindsay Black, owner and principal of Lindsay Black Design, the interior design firm for the project. “They wanted a design and interior products and materials that were not only ‘unique’, but that could also transition into defined spaces whether it was the cafe, spa, lobby, or common space.”

Beyond the challenge of interpreting the beauty brand’s vision, the team also had to work on a tight schedule. To meet the demands, Black turned to a trusted, creative solution: she specified 23,000 square feet of Crossville tile.

Black selected Crossville’s Shades collection in three colors, in both unpolished and honed finishes. This blend of colors and finishes provided the variety and contrast needed. Additionally, she brought in SpeakEasy with its authentic wood look and durability. To define transitions between spaces and add visual interest, the project team incorporated sweeping waterjet cuts.

“Trends are not always timeless. I like to stick with neutral colors and patterns, then mix in a different texture or pattern to create a timeless overall design,” Black explains.

The results hit the mark for Younique’s special vision. The facility’s modern interiors have stylish staying power. Thanks to the durability and wear resistance, the tile installation is more than cosmetic; the inviting appearance will endure the busy facility’s constant traffic over time.

The completed Younique headquarters is proof that, with Crossville, beauty is a problem solved.
