Milan-Inspired “Crescendo” Exhibition by Svenja Deininger Opens in New York
“I wouldn’t describe my paintings as abstract, but they’re not figurative either,” Svenja Deininger has stated. They are certainly impactful, however. And, in the 15 pieces composing her current exhibition, “Crescendo,” at Marianne Boesky Gallery in New York through December 22, a slight Italian influence may be perceived. That’s because, although the artist is based in Vienna, she began the body of work while living temporarily in Milan, the city inspiring both the palette and the silhouettes—and the show’s title.
