On The Move: May 2026 Edition

Interior Design‘s latest On the Move includes newsy A&D mergers, like Corgan welcoming FOX Architects and HOK acquiring ROSSETTI, as well as the latest industry promotions and hires. Read on to see who’s climbing the ranks in design.

Corgan

Corgan has welcomed FOX Architects, an established Washington, D.C.-based design practice, to the firm. Founded 20 years ago, FOX Architects has built a strong reputation delivering innovative solutions across commercial architecture and interiors, building repositioning, and mixed-use environments. Derek Wood, managing principal at FOX Architects, will continue leading the team, which gains access to Corgan’s global network, advanced research capabilities, and expanded technical resources. The addition accelerates Corgan’s growth in the region following the establishment of its D.C. office in 2024. Corgan ranks as the No. 1 data center and No. 3 aviation firm in the U.S.

Baccarat

Baccarat has appointed Thais Roda as chief executive officer, North America. Roda brings over 20 years of senior leadership experience in the luxury and design sectors, most recently serving as CEO of Liaigre Inc., where she successfully restructured operations, strengthened cross-continental synergies, and led substantial revenue and profitability growth across the U.S. market. In her new role, she will lead development and execution of Baccarat’s business and brand strategy across North America, spanning crystal collections, client engagement, boutiques, partner networks, and strategic partnerships including Baccarat Hotel New York. She will also identify new growth opportunities to expand the French Maison’s reach and influence.

Neolith

Neolith has appointed Nieves Contreras as chief brand officer to lead the company’s global brand strategy. Contreras brings over 20 years of international experience in creative leadership and design strategy, most recently serving as director of the Creativity Department and executive committee member at Lladró, where she led brand strategy and creative transformation for eight years. Her career includes experience at international studios such as Elium Studio in Paris. Currently pursuing a doctorate in design at Universitat Politècnica de València, she serves on the board of trustees of the Design Foundation of the Region of Valencia and holds international certification in Boards of Directors and Good Governance.

Karndean Designflooring

Karndean Designflooring has appointed Noah Fulton as CEO of Karndean North America, succeeding Bill Anderson after 16 years with the company. Fulton, 41, began working at Karndean as a high school student in 1998 and has served as vice president of business strategy since 2009. A University of Pittsburgh accounting graduate, he gained firsthand knowledge across sales, marketing, finance, and IT throughout his career. Anderson joined Karndean in 2009 as vice president of operations and became CEO in 2019, guiding the luxury vinyl supplier to market leadership in North America and navigating the company through the COVID-19 pandemic.

KTGY

KTGY has appointed William Bate as chief executive officer, succeeding Tricia Esser, who served as CEO since 2006 and has been with the firm since its 1991 founding. Bate joins from Boston Consulting Group, where he served as managing director and partner leading the North America Real Estate and Cities practice, bringing expertise in strategy, operations, digital transformation, and M&A. He will be based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Concurrently, KTGY elevated five leaders to shareholder status: Brad Golba (principal), Joe Hesselbach (chief financial officer), Melissa Jaro (executive director, human resources), Sam Luckino (principal), and Zac Miles (principal). Esser remains as advisor to the CEO and board member.

Ennead

Ennead Architects is joining CannonDesign as a distinct studio, practicing as Ennead, a CannonDesign company. The 160-person practice, renowned for its creative vision and commitment to the public realm, will continue work from its New York, Los Angeles, and Shanghai offices while gaining access to CannonDesign’s global network of nearly 1,600 designers and consultants. Notable Ennead projects include the Rose Center for Earth and Space at the American Museum of Natural History, the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, Shanghai Astronomy Museum, and ByteDance Houhai Center in Shenzhen. The firms share a commitment to bold design vision, expanding design’s impact beyond buildings into broader civic and institutional contexts.

B+H Architects

B+H Architects has appointed Janine Grossmann as senior director, business development, architecture + design. Based in Toronto, Grossmann will lead Interior Design business development across the firm’s Toronto and Vancouver studios, advancing the Interior Design practice, expanding CHIL Interior Design’s hospitality portfolio, and strengthening integrated A+D delivery. She brings over 30 years of experience in commercial, institutional, and hospitality projects ranging from 5,000 to over four million square feet. A Fellow and Past President of ARIDO, Grossmann is a recipient of a Royal Architectural Institute of Canada Urban Design Award and multiple ARIDO awards, remaining actively engaged in advancing the profession through leadership and advocacy.

The Architectural Team

The Architectural Team (TAT), a national leader in architecture, master planning, and interior design, has announced new strategic promotions elevating a dozen key team members, including new senior associates: Phil Renzi, Andrew Stebbins, Meghann Van Dorn, and Anthony Vivirito. 

TAT has also named five new associates—Al Donovan, Ryan Hagler, Kasumi Humphries, Jim Podesky, and Nathan Thomas—and promoted three key administrative, marketing, and business development leaders: Meghan Wynne (controller), Danielle Eckrich (director of administration), and Kristen Parry, (senior marketing coordinator and pursuits lead).

Bentley Mills

Bentley Mills has appointed Jim Cusick as president. Cusick joined the California-based commercial flooring company in August 2025 and served as interim president before officially stepping into the role. He brings over 30 years of experience in manufacturing and flooring, known for building high-performing teams, leading complex operations, and delivering sustainable growth. His leadership style is grounded in accountability, partnership, and commitment to people and performance. Bentley Mills is part of global flooring company Belysse. The appointment signals a new phase of growth with renewed focus on performance, people, and product development.

HOK

HOK has acquired ROSSETTI, a Detroit-based architecture firm with 57 years of sports venue design expertise. The combined firm will operate as HOK + ROSSETTI during integration, with ROSSETTI’s team led by Matt Rossetti, FAIA, LEED AP, continuing to operate from Detroit, establishing HOK’s first office in the market. ROSSETTI’s portfolio includes Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix, USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, and Ford Field, with ongoing projects including Arthur Ashe Stadium’s reimagination and Cosm Detroit. The combined Sports + Recreation + Entertainment practice will be led by directors Nate Appleman, Shannon Bartsch, Amy Chase, John Rhodes, Matt Rossetti, and Rashed Singaby.
