Tighe Architecture Exhibits at L.A.’s A+D Museum

We all know Patrick Tighe as a star in L.A.’s architecture firmament. His stunning contemporary residences enrich the city’s landscape from the Hollywood Hills to Pacific Palisades to Venice and beyond. His multi-family dwellings, serving another populace, are equally as sensitive solving quite other sets of conditions. Meanwhile commercial interiors span the gamut from gritty to glamorous. Many of us also know Tighe as an artist. Patrick Tighe Architecture exhibited “L’Apertura 7 Windows” in the 2016 Venice Biennale, and Tighe himself, a Rome Prize Fellow, draws, creates mixed-media collages, and, in a sense, sculpts given the complex precision of his metal models. Come this Saturday night, more of Los Angeles’s community at large will recognize the scope of his talents with the opening of “Doppelgängers,” his exhibition at the A+D Museum at 900 East 4th Street in DTLA. Through these mediums, “Doppelgängers is a critical reminiscence on multiple projects revisiting the initial inspiration for each,” he says.

Obviously, June is quite the month. Coinciding with the exhibit’s opening is Interior Design’s publication of Tighe Architecture’s newly completed Hollywood Hills residence. We’ll be there to help celebrate. The opening reception is from 6:00 to 10:00. The show runs through August 18.
