Kartell Celebrates 15 Years of Transparency
Walking through the Kartell SoHo showroom on Tuesday night, Lorenza Luti, marketing director of Kartell and granddaughter of founder Giulio Castelli, spoke with excitement about the direction of the company. “We’re going deeper in every division, making plastic a truly luxury material. And the beauty of a Kartell piece? It can at once be the actor, the centerpiece, of the room or blend in with its environment. Our pieces are multifunctional.” She showcased each vignette with equal enthusiasm as the space filled with party guests.
Designers and architects all packed into the event, co-hosted by Interior Design magazine. Everyone was eager to test out the products from the latest Uncle Jack “sofa,” designed by Philippe Starck, to a new line of plastic handbags, a collaboration with an Italian designer. With 15 years of “transparency” under their belts, we have to ask, “What’s next for Kartell?”
