Mark Zeff Shares His Top Outdoor Product Picks

“Comfort and organics should be foremost in mind when choosing outdoor furniture and accessories,” says Mark Zeff. But in practice, the designer’s scope is more wide ranging. The Markzeff founder frequently specs goods from his lifestyle brand, Blackbarn, including the Net Balneario hammock chair in iron by Arxe. “I love the industrial-farm aesthetic and how surprisingly comfortable it is,” he says. 

Baskets made in Belgium featuring thick weaves of European vine wood are another go-to. And favorites beyond Blackbarn include the Desert collection by Marmol Radziner for Danao Living: “For outdoor furniture, I am a wood-only guy, and this series, with its retro lines, is a winner.” Zeff calls the Hamali Block coffee table by Uniqwa “simple, with style,” its hand-carved reclaimed-teak blocks charred by fire. The teak-and-ceramic Blow side table by Henrik Pedersen for Gloster, meanwhile, is “beautiful, original, and useful anywhere.”
