From plush archival seating to curvaceous ceramic furnishings, this year’s International Contemporary Furniture Fair, also known as ICFF, offered a plethora of hot-take works. North America’s leading exhibition for of-the-moment design took place at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center over May 18-20, 2025, similar to last year’s event. Here are some standouts from the fair.

Sunset by Bernhardt Design

With its pleasingly rounded edges, the Sunset modular seating collection by American product designer Cory Grosser draws inspiration from California’s iconic Sunset Strip as well as 60s and 70s design.
Squared by Winkle Ceramic Design

Founder Daniel Shapiro operates Winkle Ceramic Design out of St. Louis, MO, where their new Squared line of building-block-like lighting, mirrors, and furniture are made utilizing traditional marble slipcasting techniques as well as 3D design and printing methods.
Renegade Naturals by Zachary A.

Its hues drawn from a color study of American landscapes, the Renegade Neutrals indoor-outdoor seating and table collection by Chicago-based furniture brand Zachary A. is made from their lightweight proprietary composite material into shape and color combos like Brow in Boulder Blue and Bilbouquet in Walla Walla Wine.
Stack by H. Bigeleisen

A new take on H. Bigeleisen’s Stack lamp trades her signature textured gypsum finish for smooth solid wood pyramidal and spherical forms topped with a playful fringed cubic shade. Shown with Steven Bukowski’s Floating Bubble shelf with integrated drawers.
Judith by Peg Woodworking

Brooklyn-based maker Kate Casey, working under the moniker Peg Woodworking, introduced the Judith console utilizing architectural handweaving to create the door’s striking design set within a coopered wood frame.
Tilt + Shift by Stackabl x Rockwell Group

Architecture and design firm Rockwell Group teams with Canadian manufacturer Stackabl for Tilt + Shift, a sustainable lighting line of two table and three floor lamp versions crafted of offcut wool felt and post-industrial cork paired with touch-dimmable LEDs.
Karimoku Re:Issue by LICHEN

For their ICFF debut, Japanese manufacturer Karimoku collaborated with design incubator/studio Lichen. The New York-based team’s CMPT (shorthand for compartment) modular furnishings—based off the humble apple box and ganged via an ingenus joint—are perfect for small spaces. Also, reimagined versions of the brand’s corporate-ready ZE sofa series from 1982 were translated into lush home seating now dubbed Karimoku Re:Issue by LICHEN.
Harmonic Strata by Thatcher

Designer Avery Thatcher of Portland, Oregon-based Thatcher introduced her new wallcovering collection Harmonic Strata, including the refined plaid pattern of Unwound and the overlapping stripes of Storyline, as an exploration of complimentary hues.
Morpho by Ethnicraft

Great Library Design Studio, a collaboration between music festival Tomorrowland and Dieter Vander Velpen Architects, designed the inaugural Morpho launch crafted by Belgian maker Ethnicraft. The collection’s throughline is a contemporary take on Art Noveau’s curves, witnessed in the tree root-inspired legs of the Cena dining table and dragonfly wing decoration on the Volita chair’s back.
Obel and Stria by SIN

Virginia Sin of Brooklyn-based SIN introduced two new sculptural lighting collections: Obel consists of the Gio and Osen ceramic table lamps inspired by obelisks and sacred architecture while Stria pulls off a handweaving technique for its 3-part sconce series.
Rugs by Alex DelBello

New York-based designer Alex DelBello imagined rugs in unexpected shapes and vibrant palettes rendered in New Zealand wool for brand allybello’s ICFF kickoff, including patterns like wavy Ripple in current, runner Wing in ochre, and Splash in rose.
Jura by Ah Um Design Studio

Building on his Jura collection, Los Angeles-based Zack Nestel-Platt of Ah Um Design Studio adds a dining chair, side table, club chair, tiled floor lamp, and tiled accent chair to his existing pieces, their handmade quality lending the feel of family heirlooms.
