4 Expressive New Products from German Company Pulpo
Established in 2006 by Patrick and Ursula L’hoste, Pulpo works with established and emerging talents alike, enthusiastically seeking out up-and-comers. The German company’s latest find, Elisa Strozyk, studied at Central Saint Martins in London before returning to her native Berlin, where she created the Chiara | Fosca side table. A powder-coated steel base supports a marbleized top—actually a mix of cordierite (a silicate material) and ceramic glaze that comingle and then solidify into a one-of-a-kind pattern in the kiln. Also new for the company are lighting and furniture by fellow German designer Sebastian Herkner. The porcelain-base Boule lamp, available in five mix-and-match glass color options, is illuminated by double bulbs and comes in two sizes. His languorous Pallet chaise is outfitted in a leather cushion that wraps around a base of oiled or stained oak.
