Arch Products: 12th Avenue Iron

“Pieces in this collection act as a bridge between the physics of our bodies and the physics of our shelter”Tom Kundig  Photography by Kyle Johnson.

Reach out and touchyour surroundings. That’s the idea behind the Tom Kundig Collection of hardware, according to the Seattle-based Olson Kundig principal. The Interior Design Hall of Famer lavishes attention on those building elements we physically interact with, viewing them as opportunities to have a positive impact on end users’ experiences. The low-tech grouping in waxed steel offers tactile moments that aren’t overly stylized. The portfolio’s latest entries are a nine-piece hook series, cabinet pulls, bathroom hardware, lighting, and a pocket-door pull with integral latch. Innovative forms include metal drawer pulls shaped like folded leather, an industrial-looking pulley system that’s actually an adjustable pendant lamp, and a quartet of simple tables. 12thavenueiron.com
