Catch Clodagh’s First-Ever Photography Show “Ephemera” at Cheryl Hazan Gallery

An Interior Design Hall of Famer and frequent award-winner, Clodagh’s impressive projects and products are numerous. Her latest undertaking is no exception: her first-ever photography show is on view at New York’s Cheryl Hazan gallery until April 27. This is one exhibition you’ll want to see before it closes.

Titled Ephemera, the solo show consists of conceptual photography from Clodagh’s last decade of world travels. Her 2007 trip to Tibet was a formative experience for her. It was then, she realized, that the moments of transience she so loved observing could be documented through photography.

“Graffiti, water and sky are so appealing to me because they change constantly and have no boundaries. Both attributes appeal to me and my Libra soul,” she said. “A building can take four years, but photography gives me instant gratification.”

The nature of Clodagh’s travels and photography inspire her usage of modalities that have long had a place in her design toolbox. Biophilia, wabi-sabi, feng shui, and radiesthesia are just a handful of her go-to design concepts, inspired by her knowledge of America, Japan, China, and France.

“Ephemera is an exploration of capturing these elements—the transient moments of life—and the way the nostalgia of memory informs my reality,” says the artist. “Both design and art are universal languages… they need no translation.”

Ephemera opened on March 14 and will run until April 27 at Cheryl Hazan gallery (35 N. Moore St.) in New York City.
