Exteta Re-Releases the Colorful, Irreverent Pieces of Gae Aulenti’s 1964 Locus Solus Collection
Though she made her mark as an architect, Gae Aulenti also designed interiors, furniture, theater sets, and graphics. She launched her first outdoor collection, Locus Solus, for Poltronova in 1964. Now, a licensing agreement between the late architect’s archive and Exteta has resulted in the re-release of the colorful, irreverent pieces: a dining table, a love seat, a chaise longue with oversize wheels, an armchair, and an ottoman. The frames are tubular steel varnished blue, green, yellow, orange, or white. The handmade cushions are slipcovered in washable Sunbrella solution-dyed acrylic printed with Aulenti’s original target pattern.
