Nursery Furniture: Designjunction’s Teddy’s Wish Auction

The London Design Festival fair Designjunction’s director, Deborah Spencer, has a personal connection to sudden infant death syndrome. Her sister and brother-in-law lost a 3-month-old son, Edward, to SIDS earlier this year—which is why they founded Teddy’s Wish to raise funds to aid research. That’s also why Designjunction hosted “A Child’s Dream,” a selling exhibition in support of the just launched organization.

Tom Dixon and Faye Toogood were among the leading creatives invited to participate in “A Child’s Dream” by customizing one of two British classics: a task lamp by Kenneth Grange for Anglepoise or a chair by Ercol’s Lucian Ercolani. Results, auctioned online, generated the equivalent of $15,600.
