Top Tile Trends Spotted At Coverings 2026

Coverings, North America’s largest international showcase of ceramic tile and stone, was recently held in Las Vegas, and Sin City was ready to welcome visitors to the expo with open arms. Trends, from the growth in popularity of small formats and rich dimensionality to the pervasion of green and organic minimalism, were selected by Coverings’ three leading sponsors and international tile associations—Ceramics of Italy, Tile of Spain, and the Tile Council of North America—to spotlight the most favored product designs from the global tile industry.

Dimensional surface detail aided by new technologies was a clear throughline, with advanced glazing and contour-detailing techniques lending haptic depth, from pitting to etched striations. On the show floor editors perused bookmatched onyx-look slabs that appear backlit at all times without being illuminated by LEDs at all (Luminescence by Energieker). There was porcelain tile with an ultra-realistic linen effect or handstitched leather texture (Surface Group’s Soul White Cotton and Merola Tile’s Saddle, respectively). For those after a natural travertine look, Ivorynn Stone by Wonder Porcelain uses ink-sinking technology and 3D digital structure printing to capture believable veining and tactile pores. Laminam’s Rare Ceramic Surface Collection was similarly convincing, while being more durable than natural stone. Bronzite and Taj Mahal were showcased to great effect in the brand’s DNA finish—in which the porcelain stoneware slabs have a subtle yet clear relief structure that exactly matches the natural stone stone.
