Duravit Drops in on Los Angeles

There was no one reason per se, but there were plenty of firsts. That would be the intimate dinner hosted by the Duravit team of Tim Schroeder, president and CEO of Duravit USA, and Alex Bursac, PR Manager & Specifications. The balmy October evening was the first celebration of Los Angeles design between the renowned brand and members of the city’s design and architecture community. Naturally, cocktails were al fresco, around the firepit of the newly opened La Peer Hotel, designed by Gulla Jónsdóttir. We segued to the gracious designer’s eponymous adjacent atelier. More firsts. Her debut dinner party, signaling many more to come, was set amid the artworks of Kahori Maki, whom Jónsdóttir had met in Japan and selected as the subject of her gallery’s initial exhibition. As for the multi-course dinner, it was created by chef Casey Lane and served family style. Wines were chosen by sommelier François Renaud. Cin cin.
