Interior Design Honors 2018 Best of Year Award Winners
On November 30, Interior Design gathered more than 1,000 members of the Architecture and Design community to celebrate its 13th-annual Best of Year awards (#idbestofyear). The awards event, held for the first time at the Jacob Javits Center’s Iconic River Pavilion in New York City, was hosted by Interior Design Editor in Chief Cindy Allen and Publisher Carol Cisco.
Allen was her usual charismatic self (even after hosting the previous night’s Hall of Fame gala) and quickly got the crowd enthusiastically clapping and laughing before launching into the list of Best of Year awards, which honors the year’s most outstanding projects and products.
Allen and Cisco first announced the product winners, which included selections from EWE Studio, Bill Amberg Studio x Alexandra Champalimaud, and Vibia, among many others. After a quick break, they revealed the project winners, which included Innocad Architects, BHDM, and Perkins+Will.
In total, the Best of Year Awards included an astonishing 2,000 entries and 586 finalists in 133 design categories. (View all 2018 Best of Year winners and honorees here.)
The Best of Year awards followed another successful Hall of Fame the night before. This year’s inductees included IwamotoScott, Marcel Wanders, Patrick Tighe, and Kengo Kuma, all recognized for their unique design achievements.
