Lighting Auction to Help Nepal Orphanage

Kids of Kathmandu will auction 17 donated lights as part of its enLIGHTen Project to raise money for an orphanage in Bhaktapur, Nepal. The auction, whch ends May 17, will feature a range of floor, ceiling and table lights from David Trubridge, Rich Brilliant Willing, Vica by Annabelle Seldorf, B.Light Design and Lindsey Adelman, among others. The money raised from the auction will go toward necessities such as solar panels and a water filtration system as well as education for the orphanage, which houses children ranging in age from 2 to 18. The Kids of Kathmandu is a non-profit organization that was started in June of 2010 by the husband and wife team of Andrew Raible and Jami Saunders. Their mission: To raise funds and awareness for the orphans of Kathmandu, Nepal, through design, the arts and photography.
