OHNY Honors Cindy Allen of Interior Design
True to form, Openhousenewyork (OHNY) hosted its annual spring benefit inside a space that is not open to the public: Morris Adjmi Architects’ office building at 837 Washington. With New York’s famous High Line park in the backdrop, president Margaret Sullivan welcomed the crowd of supporters, but more importantly, she called attention to the evening’s honorees: Interior Design editor in chief Cindy Allen; Barry Bergdoll, professor and curator of the Museum of Modern Art’s Department of Architecture and Design; and Gale Brewer, Manhattan Borough President. While touting the accomplishments of OHNY, Allen was quick to turn the attention away from herself, saying “Recognizing me means recognizing my favorite people in the world: the architect and the designer.”
