re:Source September 2018: Sun, Fun, and Targeted Meetings in Arizona

Designers and manufacturers who attended Interior Design’s re:Source this week enjoyed getting to know each other at the newly renovated The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain, in Marana, Arizona.

The biannual event, which attracted over 100 attendees, offered manufacturers and designers a guaranteed number of highly targeted face-to-face meetings over a two-day period where products were reviewed and discussed. Each of the manufacturers set up a featured display, giving designers the chance to get up close and personal with the products.

The program wasn’t all about meetings, however. Katie Critchley, the Director of the Farm at Agritopia, gave an insightful talk about the history and present-day direction of the agrarian community located in Gilbert, Arizona. The first to be married in Agritopia, Critchley shared how the principles of the community revolves around “getting to know your neighbor” and setting aside land to grow local produce.

And, of course, there was sun and fun as attendees were able to choose from a variety of activities to round out their days. The most popular? The margarita mixing class, where the group tasted a range of tequilas and handcrafted their own special concoctions.
