Seventh Annual HiP Product Winners Honored in Virtual Ceremony
The A&D community tuned in to DesignTV by SANDOW last Friday for a virtual ceremony celebrating HiP Product winners, hosted by Interior Design Editor in Chief Cindy Allen. Though winners and honorees could not convene at theMART in Chicago for the seventh annual event, which typically spotlights standout products and people in a single ceremony—now split into two—and heralds the start of NeoCon, Allen encouraged viewers to applaud their peers from afar.
“Every year, we celebrate HiP at NeoCon where we get to see all the latest and greatest new products, but also where we commune as an industry… This year, we’re apart, but the next best thing to being there is watching right here with us,” Allen said, kicking off the virtual ceremony for Product winners. Friday, June 19, Allen will resume her role as host for the second virtual ceremony honoring HiP People winners.
This year, 36 winners were chosen from 232 total product entries across 35 categories, with a tie for Workplace Meeting Room/Pod between Haworth’s Pergola and Nienkämper’s Patkau Cocoon. The products represented an all-encompassing selection of innovative and timely contract design, ranging from transparent room partitions to promote health and wellness in public spaces to Camira Fabrics’ Oceanic collection woven from discarded plastic found floating in sea.
Allen also offered a warm thank you to theMART for ongoing support of the HiP Awards and expressed gratitude to HiP 2020 sponsors—Formica, Interface, and Material Bank—and HiP Select Partners. Mark your calendars for the virtual ceremony honoring HiP People winners Friday, June 19, on DesignTV by SANDOW.
