Avery Thatcher’s Latest Wallpaper for Juju Papers Pairs Wood Texture With Geometry

Wood rubbings that studio founder Avery Thatcher made from fallen oak and pine trees provide the motif for Goldendale, her latest wallpaper for Juju Papers. The rubbings were hand cut into simple shapes and arranged in a stacked, geometric pattern “inspired by a unique part of the Columbia River Basin, where the forest meets the grasslands,” Thatcher says. “The design evokes that meeting of natural worlds through the juxtaposition of order (geometry) and chaos (wood texture).” Available in four colorways, as well as custom hues, the wall covering is offered in two material types: 27-inch-wide clay-coated paper, hand screen-printed with water-based inks in small batches, for residential use; and 54-inch-wide nonwoven vinyl, Type II Mylar, or Terralon for commercial applications.
