Caesarstone Takes Marble to the Max in its Supernatural Collection
Few materials are as synonymous with timeless beauty as marble. From the pillars of ancient Greece to sculptures by Michelangelo to contemporary room accents, marble—especially white marble—never goes out of style. But the porous nature of marble makes it more susceptible to staining and etching over time, rendering it nearly impractical for high-use areas, such as kitchen counters, where oils and juices can easily seep into and alter its surface. But Caesarstone, a leading manufacturer of surfacing solutions, tapped into its innovative technologies to recreate the calacatta veining of white marble using more durable materials.
The brand’s newest addition to its Supernatural collection, 5114 Calacatta Maximus, melds the elegance of white marble with the unmatched durability of Caesarstone’s nonporous, easily cleaned surfaces. The resulting surface, which recently launched across North America, enables designers to create bold, graphic designs in a range of interiors, while paying homage to the natural appearance of the metamorphic rock. “The magic of the marble look is due to the prominent calacatta veining, which is seeing a revival in today’s trendiest residential and commercial spaces,” says Elizabeth Margles, VP of Marketing at Caesarstone North America. Caesarstone’s Calacatta Maximus surface features complex details, such as oversized veining, offering a narrative of marble’s origins in the Apuan Alps in the Carrara region of Tuscany.
Every detail in Calacatta Maximus instantly garners attention, and its vein fluidity design enables designers to utilize two slabs of the same stone and align the edges to create an unending, seamless look. “This breakthrough in design and production means that, for the first time, slabs can be lined up to create a ‘super max’ length for large islands, countertops, backsplashes, shower walls and feature walls—effectively creating a statement piece of art within any space,” adds Margles. The soft greige veins, accentuated by fine cooper and gold outlines, replicate mineral deposits found in nature while creating a striking contrast against the white background.
Calacatta Maximus surfaces are available in a subtle Natural finish, for a warm sensorial touch, or a glossy Polished finish, for a more defined aesthetic, enabling designers to create a strong statement in modern and traditional interiors alike. With bold veining that catches the eye, Caesarstone outfits designers with the tools needed to transform surfaces into works of art.
