Icebergs Inspire The Design Of These Kitchen Accents

The limited-edition Impexa kitchen suite, created by Mattia Biagi and Cardenio Petrucci of Los Angeles studio MC+ for TM Italia, derives its name from the Latin word for “disorder.” The designers say the canted forms were sparked by entropy, the breaking of patterns, and the forces of organic evolution…heady stuff! But the angular monoliths—one for cooking, one housing the sink—are sculptural wonders. Their internal structures are made of renewable materials, while exteriors are metal available in three finishes: high-gloss dark gold or nickel, referencing the reflection of the sun and water, and a super-matte brass tone, a tribute to the surfaces of icebergs. Both units are topped in a rough-hewn high-performance ceramic, and the cooking unit features hidden induction technology.
