Collina Strada Makes Its Furniture Debut With Layered
First time’s a charm! Layered, the Swedish design house known for handmade rugs, marks its inaugural collaboration with a powerhouse fashion designer: Hillary Taymour of New York–based Collina Strada—which is also making its furniture debut. The mashup of Taymour’s expressive whimsy with the Stockholm-based company’s textile craftsmanship resulted in unexpected, highly distinctive designs. The collection offers four hand-tufted rugs with hand-carved piles and edges, plus two minimalist sofas whose unfussy forms put the focus on the dazzling fabrics, kissed with the signature Collina Strada palette of pinks and greens. Patterns include a bold floral derived from the custom carpet design Taymour envisioned for her New York flagship store and a plaid from the label’s autumn/winter 2026 runway collection. Two of the rugs are flower-shaped, made by utilizing a process that takes two to three craftspeople some four days to complete. us.layeredinterior.com
