Pinta Acoustics and Marie Aigner Promote Sustainability with Recycled PET Furniture Collection
Having long worked with German manufacturer Pinta Acoustics on large-scale acoustic products, sustainability-conscious architect Marie Aigner turns her attention to smaller sound-absorbing objects with Knock Out, a furniture collection in recyclable PET. But just because the portfolio is acoustically engineered and ecologically responsible doesn’t mean it can’t be fun. The witty and colorful pieces include Elton, a Greek temple obliged to serve as a table; Cactus, a coat stand sparked by a child’s cacti collection; a floor lamp, Rocketman, straight out of a comic strip; two chairs, Dumbo and Peter, that evoke riding on an elephant and sitting on Maurizio Cattelan’s solid-gold toilet, respectively; and John, a table inspired by Max Bill graphic designs. Painted items are available in
any RAL color.
