Absolutely Fab: Fab.com Headquarters

As Fab.com tells its customers: Smile, You’re Designed To. That’s clearly true for employees, too. They’re now happily relocated from dreary environs in the garment district to an MKDA-designed office in the West Village. MKDA creative director Edin Rudic conceived the 23,000-square-foot floor-through as a “professional playroom,” throughout which he strategically placed the e-tailer’s cheeky merchandise. The fun starts with the entry’s billboard-size white logos and continues with splashes of the company’s signature red. With just four glassed-in offices, the open layout houses nearly 200 staffers at benching systems. Rudic chose chairs by Verner Panton for a conference room and chairs by Charles and Ray Eames for the cafeteria, complete with chalkboard menu.
