Amy Lau’s Prisma Rugs for Kyle Bunting Channel Mid-Century Op Art
Beige need not apply for the collection of multicolored rugs and wall coverings Amy Lau has designed for Kyle Bunting. Prisma, her second collaboration with the manufacturer, channels the mid-century op art movement, as well as Homage to the Square, Josef Albers’s 25-year series of artwork. “The way the colors interact in a particular rug allows each to be experienced differently,” Lau says. The 16 standard colorways are expressed in circles, squares, and rectangles. Dimensions vary, as each is customized according to client specifications. Handmade, the patterns are composed of cowhide from Italian and British sources.
