Her latest project blends the lot: a 10,000-square-foot hybrid concept store, restaurant, and bar. Hospitality and retail programming unfold in a choreographed sequence of volumes that draw from Egyptian cave formations and subterranean passages. The cavernous two-level environment feels excavated rather than constructed. It may read as primordial, but the interior is actually sheathed in a continuous skin of layered plaster and textured micro-cement to produce the effect of a carved monolith—a move that cleverly coheres the site’s dense forest of existing structural columns. atelierastil.com
