How China’s Luxury Bolehui Experience Center Redefines Car-Buying


Bentley, Porsche, Lamborghini. If it’s high end and lightly worn, China’s Bolehui Luxury Experience Center carries it. The 160,000-square-foot former warehouse in Nanjing—an inland city of some 10 million northwest of Shanghai—has been transformed into a showroom that redefines the car-buying experience, by treating up to 200 pre-owned vehicles like fashion statements. It’s the vision of Tingting Yu, a Pratt Institute alumna who founded YSPractice in 2019, her portfolio featuring immersive, innovative spaces for such clients as Adidas and Philips.

For Bolehui, Yu created the raceway meets runway aesthetic using a monochromatic palette and diffuse lighting. “The concept is meant to serve as a sanctuary for enthusiasts,” she says. The journey through the two-story site begins with a display area, its round, dimensional gypsum-board ceiling echoing the shape of a hubcap. Reflective cove lighting and LED stretch vaults ensure every curve of the cars is illuminated with museum-grade precision.

Materials balance sleek with pampered. A marble podium serves as a ceremonial ownership-handover area, while dark wood veneers, sustainable fabrics, and hushing acoustic panels outfit the VIP lounges. The result is not simply a dealership but rather a lifestyle hub where heritage and style intersect.
