The Rug Company Taps Star-Studded Talent Roster for Anniversary Collection

Two decades ago, the Rug Company debuted its inaugural collection of designs pairing traditional techniques and forward-thinking iconography—a style that quickly became its signature. Now the label debuts TRC20, starring some of its longstanding collaborators. Sir Paul Smith contributes Festival, a kaleidoscopic twist on his classic variegated stripe in handknotted Tibetan wool. Punk icon Vivienne Westwood unveils Highland, an oversized tartan handwoven of the same material. The house of Alexander McQueen cultivates Chiaroscuro, a haunting oral Aubusson in handwoven wool. Kelly Wearstler dreams up Channels Copper, a tribute to street art featuring brushstroke-like silk stripes on a Tibetan wool ground. And Rug Company cofounder Suzanne Sharp rounds out the collection with Bonavita, an homage to the tiled floors of a Maltese church.
