AIA New York Responds to Richard Meier Sexual Harassment Allegations
In light of a report published by the New York Times this week that describes five accusations of sexual harassment against Richard Meier, AIA New York 2018 president Guy Geier issued a statement:
“AIA New York does not condone sexual harassment in any form; the allegations described yesterday in the New York Times against architect Richard Meier are appalling to us. As stated in the AIA Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, we are dedicated to the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and competence.
AIANY’s leadership is committed to eradicating sexual harassment and supporting our members in creating safe and equitable working environments. We look forward to continuing to engage our members to ensure that professional environments are truly inclusive for all.”
Meier, FAIA, is an Interior Design Hall of Fame member.
