David Collins Studio Designs Louis Leeman in NYC

There’s a bit of European flair emanating from a particular Upper East Side corner. It’s coming from

Louis Leeman

, a new luxury men’s shoe boutique. The Italian-made footwear is showcased in a setting styled after a Parisian 19th-century maison, the vision of Simon Rawlings, creative director of

David Collins Studio

, the London-based firm.

The 900 square feet center on a fireplace with white onyx surround. Above, the lacquered ceiling reflects the residentially scaled seating below, upholstered in emerald or amethyst velvet. But the highlight, of course, is the merchandise, spotlit like artwork on the walls, which are finished in a hand-applied linen texture cubist relief.
