Take a walk on the wild side. Or rather, take a seat. That’s exactly what JUT Group employees will do upon entering their Taipei office’s revamped lecture hall by Dutch studio MVRDV. The firm, who conceptualized the 2,500-square-foot (240m2) hall, tapped Argentinian textile artist Alexandra Kehayoglou to transform the 176-seat theater into a forest-like oasis clad in her signature hand-tufted fabrics. Using discarded threads from her family’s carpet factory in Buenos Aires, Kehayoglou creates a site-specific installation that encloses the entire space in textured shades of green. “The interior is literally a green dream,” says MVRDV co-founder Winy Maas. In addition to bringing a splash of nature to hyper-urban Taipei, the intervention also aids acoustics.
