Architecture and Design Industry Promotions and Hires

Woods Bagot 

Woods Bagot recently appointed Cara MacArthur as a principal in its Los Angeles studio. Joining Woods Bagot from HOK, where she served as senior principal and director of interiors, MacArthur brings a unique perspective on one of the design industry’s most pressing challenges: what are the needs of the modern workplace? Her work explores how offices can better support neurodiversity, stay at the forefront of ever-evolving workplace trends, and create workspaces that employees genuinely want to spend time in.

Suomi Design

Carly Roberts has been promoted to studio leader at Suomi Design Works, where she will oversee the Manhattan firm’s New York office and lead design and execution across its hospitality portfolio. Since joining in 2023 as senior interior designer, Roberts spearheaded the 2026 renovation of Hyatt Regency Jersey City—honored at both the Hospitality Design Awards and NYCxDESIGN Awards—and is currently leading interiors for the Cabins at Streamsong Golf Resort, slated for completion later this year.

IIDA New York

Robin Reigi, principal of New York-based materials consultancy Robin Reigi Inc., has been inaugurated as chapter president of IIDA New York for the 2026–2027 term—the first design materials specialist to lead the chapter in its history. An adjunct professor of sustainable materials at FIT with over two decades in the A&D community, Reigi previously served as co-vice president of student development. Her presidency, themed “All In,” launches with The Loupe, a new firm-based conversation series pairing sponsors with emerging designers.

Ware Malcomb

Marian Morioka has joined Ware Malcomb as director of interior architecture and design in the firm’s San Francisco office, where she will oversee studio leadership, project performance, and team mentorship. She brings over 30 years of experience across large-scale corporate workplace, hospitality, and commercial interiors—including notable work in the winery sector—along with more than a decade running her own design consultancy. Her career includes leadership roles at several well-known Bay Area architecture firms.

Henry Kurasaki has also joined Ware Malcomb as director of architecture in the firm’s Seattle office, where he will lead the local architectural practice and business development across the Pacific Northwest. He brings over 25 years of experience spanning both architecture firm leadership and owner-side corporate real estate strategy, with expertise across corporate, retail, industrial, and financial environments. His dual perspective—having led design teams and managed multi-state real estate portfolios—gives him a distinctive vantage point for client engagement.

Mayer Fabrics

Holly Frigon has joined Mayer Fabrics as architecture and design account representative for Northern Illinois and Wisconsin, bringing a background in architecture and a relationship-driven approach to the role. She holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture and minor in mathematics from the University of San Diego.

String Furniture

Emma Jutrowski has been named U.S. head of sales at String Furniture, the Swedish design brand behind the iconic String System originally designed in 1949. Based in New York, Jutrowski will oversee the brand’s commercial expansion across residential, contract, and retail sectors nationwide. She previously served as associate buyer at Design Within Reach, where she focused on merchandising strategy and retail brand development, bringing a deep understanding of the American design consumer to the role.

Public Works Partners

Public Works Partners, the New York-based urban planning and management consultancy, has promoted Moe Magali to principal and Benjamin Martinez Newman to director. Magali, who joined the firm in 2014, has led major initiatives including the Hudson Comprehensive Plan and NYCHA PACT Resource Team, and will now oversee firm strategy, business development, and strategic partnerships. Martinez Newman advances to director of client services, with project credits spanning the multi-year Bronx is Breathing initiative and strategic planning for Acacia Network and Empire State Development.

DyeLot Interiors

Haruna Basica.

Haruna Basica has joined DyeLot Interiors as senior project designer and senior associate, bringing nearly 20 years of global hospitality design experience to the Long Beach-based studio. She spent over a decade at HBA, with project credits including The Peninsula Beverly Hills, The Ritz-Carlton San Francisco, Sheraton Grand Seattle, and Hotel Villagio at The Estate Yountville. Her expertise spans luxury hotels, boutique hospitality, residential developments, restaurants, spas, and senior living communities.

Corgan

Chris Holm has joined Corgan as principal and chief information officer, where he will lead the firm’s technology strategy, data, and cybersecurity operations in alignment with its design practice. Holm brings over 25 years of experience in technology transformation, including large-scale infrastructure modernization, cybersecurity program development, and AI strategy. He previously served as chair of Dallas CIO and as a board member of The Warren Center, and currently advises Year Up United DFW.

Sabu Song has also joined Corgan as studio design director and associate principal in the firm’s Los Angeles office, where she will lead design vision and execution across the studio’s growing West Coast portfolio. Song brings over two decades of experience spanning arts and culture, aviation, retail, mixed-use residential, and office environments, with accolades including the IIDA Global Award and Interior Design Best of Year Award. Her appointment follows Corgan’s March 2026 opening of a new 40,000-square-foot Los Angeles office.

Gold + Oak

Gold + Oak, the lifestyle and design division of Nicholas Family of Companies, has launched Gold + Oak Interiors and brought on three senior designers from Eleni Interiors to staff the new full-service division. Megan Vosburgh joins as senior lead designer with 24 years of experience; Karen Hultsch steps in as senior lead designer with 27 years across residential interiors and merchandising; and Jenna Scialabba joins as lead designer. The division will serve multifamily, hospitality, sports, retail, and industrial clients.
