A Cosmetics Company And Tile Brand Team Up To Celebrate Color
Brand-on-brand collaborations are nothing new, but a cosmetics company teaming with a tile manufacturer? That’s one we hadn’t heard of. It turns out to be a logical pairing: Both Deborah Osburn’s Clé and Sasha Plavsic’s clean-beauty brand Ilia celebrate color and gloss, whether the base be clay or skin. The partnership resulted in a limited-edition series of ruddy, blush-toned glazes applied to the maker’s handmade thin-brick tile. The five shades—from dark-burgundy Resin to pastel-pink Mosaic—echo the depth, chroma, and translucency of Ilia’s same-named Overglaze lip glosses. “We probably did 300 variations just to get the right hues,” Clé’s guild manager, Eric VanderMolen, estimates.
