Aspekt Office Creates the New Copenhagen Space of Tech Company Work & Co
“The style and identity of Work & Co are something we can [relate to],” says Hans Hornemann, who cofounded Copenhagen-based design studio Aspekt Office with Terkel Skou Steffensen. “Their authentic and honest approach to the design process is a common ground and it’s something we’ve also aimed to achieve in [this space].” Located in the heart of the Danish capital and nestled in a historic building originally designed by architect Arthur Wittmaack in 1916, Work & Co’s new office is filled with natural light and has an inviting atmosphere with a Scandinavian feel.
According to Steffensen, some of the main sources of inspiration for this project were midcentury offices for the use of wood and Donald Judd for the geometric, pared-down aesthetics. “The core idea was to create a working environment where people have a sense of comfort and homeliness and where shared spaces for meetings, gatherings and social moments alternate with soundproof phone booths,” Hornemann adds. “The warm materials and soft color palette for furniture and light fixtures enhance the feeling of calmness and serenity.”
