Randy’s Donuts Lands In Mexico City With Retro-Futurist Flair
2025 Best of Year Winner for Casual Dining
A new outpost of the iconic Randy’s Donuts founded in 1952 in L.A.—and famed for its assortment of raised and cake-style confections—mines mid-century American and Mexican expressionism. The retro-futuristic décor of the 2,131-square-foot Mexico City storefront by Cadena Concepts serves up a vintage visual language common to both countries. . .and that still looks hot-out-of-the-oven fresh today. Patrons can grab and go or eat at one of the chrome-edged, diner-esque tables, their blue tonality vibrating against the bright-orange flooring and wall tile. The latter is embellished with dimpled panels and eye-popping environmental graphics—incorporating Randy’s memorabilia, audio speakers, and even wire wheels from lowriders—that riff on the donut’s circular shape.
