X Marks the Spot in PMG’s X Miami

The concept for a 464-unit building in downtown Miami was so new, PMG needed a new division to design it. X Social Communities’ X Miami is the first in a series of projects—soon to include locations in Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, and Denver—in which residents can rent furnished or unfurnished apartments, or even just a private bedroom and bathroom with shared living areas and kitchens flooded with light from the floor-to-ceiling windows and balconies.

Common areas, some in collaboration with Antrobus + Ramirez, disrupt the division between work and play. “There’s a two-level co-working space with private meeting rooms,” says PMG’s managing partner Benjamin Brichta, “a modern gym big enough to cancel your gym membership and mezzanine grilling and entertainment area, a pool with a lawn and performance stage, and a screening lounge for daily viewing events.”  And also blur the separation between public and private, with a coffeehouse, cocktail bar, and restaurant open to all.
