Firm : Workshop/APD

Location : New York, NY.

Bio : Before teaming up with Matthew to launch Workshop/APD in 1999, Andrew ran his own residential design firm in Nantucket and New York City. It was then he discovered his abiding passion for the crafting of things: researching new materials and innovative fabrication methods, all with an eye towards solid modern design. “My love of architecture is found in the act of building,” says Andrew. “I love nothing more then seeing our work realized.” Andrew earned a Bachelor of Arts from Lehigh University and a Master’s of Architecture from the University of Michigan, where he received the Chair’s Cup Award. He has served as a Visiting Professor at Pratt Institute and he continues to serve as a visiting critic at the New York Institute of Technology, Columbia University, Lehigh University, Parsons and the University of Michigan. During occasional moments of down-time, Andrew enjoys sailing and spending time with his wife and children.
