Arper Opens Los Angeles Showroom
Now there are three. Arper showrooms in the United States, that is. Following New York City and Chicago, the Los Angeles facility takes up residence downtown, fittingly close to such major players as Gensler, Rottet Studio, and Perkins+Will, to name a few. Its opening was primed to coincide with full-scale operating capacity of its new High Point factory, completed this January and embarking on production just this month. The endeavor aims to cut delivery time in half, according to Arper.
Before the showroom opened its doors, we previewed the 3,000-square-foot space, designed by New York–based architect Solveig Fernlund with the collaboration of Arper’s creative director Jeannette Altherr of Barcelona. Like its predecessors (the global total is 12), the City of Angels showroom is clean and spare, befitting the brand. Finishes and colors were specially chosen, though. Here the palette tends toward light and clear. While not officially part of the site, an adjoining terrace offers spill-over space for events or casual meetings. And this being an Italian company, there is, of course, always espresso and cappuccino ready in un ottimo.
