Bruno Moinard Transports His Eponymous Collection From Paris to North America
Bruno Moinard transports his eponymous collection from Paris to North America this fall, with dueling debuts in the New York and Toronto showrooms of Avenue Road. First mentored by Interior Design Hall of Fame member Andrée Putman, Moinard founded his firm, 4BI, in 1996, designing hundreds of Cartier boutiques worldwide. In fact, some material and finish choices evolved from those projects. The no-nonsense chair frame of San Francisco, interrupted only by a pillow insert, sits on chunky walnut feet. A pair of oculi flanks the bench seat of Gumi, making the sofa intriguing from all angles. Sloping bands of polished bronze reflect light in the Dugo side table. Forged blackened steel supports the horsehair-upholstered seat of the Apua bench. And blackened steel reappears in the slender Naas floor lamp, paired with bronzed brass.
