Skram Furniture

earned its domestic and international following through its distinctive approach to modern design and emphasis on sustainable practices. Skram craftsman use a combination of traditional techniques with cutting-edge fabrication processes resulting in a line of durable, unique pieces with a modern edge crafted in a range of materials (timber, hardwood veneer, assorted metals, leather, and stone) that are suitable for diverse settings.

This year, Skram is redesigning and refining its 2008 Lineguard collection. Designed by A. Jacob Marks, the collection is “an exploration of the subtle relationships between proportion, line, and visual weight balanced against functional requirements.”  Each piece—including a chair, a sleek six-drawer dresser, sideboard and wall mirror with shelf—explores the power of repetition as a design tool and the interplay of volume and negative space. According to Marks the pieces are “intended to reveal understated refinements and careful negotiations in the details of their execution” and are “equally suitable for use in commercial, hospitality or residential environments.”
